LONDON: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani met PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif at the latter’s Park Lane apartment here on Friday and inquired after his health. Mr Sharif underwent a successful heart surgery last month and is now convalescing here.
The prime minister is in London on a private visit to see his son Haider Gilani who also underwent a surgery. Hasan Nawaz, son of the PML-N leader, received the prime minister.
Talking to reporters, Mr Gilani said he had been in telephonic contact with Mr Sharif and wished to call on him to inquire after his health.
The prime minister, who was accompanied by Pakistani High Commissioner Wajid Shamsul Hasan, remained with Mr Sharif for
about half an hour and exchanged views with him on the political and economic situation in the country.
Mr Sharif thanked the prime minister for the visit. He said his son Hasan had met Haider Gilani on Thursday to inquire after his health.
The PML-N chief said he would soon return to Pakistan. He conveyed his gratitude to people who prayed for his health.—APP
